Step 2: Hold and drag the mouse pointer to the location to capture the screen.
Step 3: Then let go and the Macbook screenshot command will be activated and the screenshot will be saved on the Macbook Desktop.

The latest versions of macOS allow you to take screenshots manually with an app called built-in, screenshot. Added to macOS Mojave, Screenshot gives you different screenshot capture options, including Full Screen, Part of the Screen, and Manual Click and Drag Selection.

Here’s how to use the Screenshot app to take pictures of objects in macOS:
Step 1: Press Shift + Command + 5 to open the Screenshot application. A tool will appear at the bottom of your screen.
Step 2: Click on the tool you want to use. You can capture the whole screen, capture a Window window, capture part of the screen, record the whole screen or a part of the screen.
For the Full Screen or Part of the Screen selection, you choose Capture. For the window screen capture option, move the mouse pointer to the window and then click on it. To record a video, select Record. And to stop recording the screen, select the Stop Recording button in the Menu bar.
In Options, you can specify where you want to save the file so you can find it any time you want.
