How To Install Windows 10 On Vmware
Step 1: Install VMware Virtual Machine
Start by opening VMware and selecting “Create a New Virtual Machine”.
We will start with a Typical configuration. Suppose you are feeling fancy and want to tweak the parameters. In that case, you can choose one by one, this article will not detail other customizations but use the standard configuration.
You will need to show VMWare the path to the Windows 10 ISO that you prepared in the first step.
If VMware does not automatically detect the ISO’s operating system, you will have to select it yourself. You can choose between 32 and 64-bit versions of the Windows operating system.
Select a name for your virtual machine (Virtual Machine Name) and a save location. It is possible to choose the default setting at this step.
The next thing is to create the virtual drive. The maximum limit I recommend is 40GB – 60GB, which is the best. You should also select “Split virtual disk into multiple files”, otherwise VMware will automatically immediately allocate space on your hard drive.
Step 2: Customize virtual hardware.
It is entirely possible to customize the hardware (Customize the hardware) your virtual machine will use. I’ll do it first to show you a few options you can change, but if you see the VMware defaults right for you go ahead and select Finish.
Choosing the memory option, I can increase or decrease the amount of RAM for this virtual machine. Here I will choose 2GB instead of the default 1GB.
I will give my VMware some more CPU capacity by using two cores instead of one.
When you are done hardware tweaking, you can close the window and click “Finish” on the New VMware Wizard.
Step 3: Install Windows 10
Once you are ready to begin the installation, click on “Power on this virtual machine”. The installation will begin.
